Position Title: School Registrar
Bass Middle-230 Day Calendar
Pay is based on 8 hour work day x 230 days $17.76 an hour
Job Description
To provide complete and accurate records for all students for the principal, school administrative staff, and
teachers.To establish and maintain a smooth and efficiently run school office that will ensure a maximum
positive impact upon students, parents, teachers, and the general public. Perform customary office
routines and practices associated with a productive and smoothly run office. Establish and maintain
required school files. Assist with the processing of records for students entering and withdrawing from
school. Provide data input and retrieval for computerized student attendance accounting and eligibility.
Maintain and distribute report cards. Possess sound interpersonal skills necessary for meeting parents
and the general public. Answer telephone/take messages/respond to caller's questions appropriately.
Maintain principal's monthly reports. Report fire and severe weather drills. Complete work permits for
minors. Enter field trip requests. Audit bank statements each month. Make announcements over the
school intercom system. Disburse medication to students when the school nurse is not on campus
(required training). Comply with any reasonable oral or written directive of the school principal or other
appropriate school staff. Excellent attendance and punctuality required.
Required Education, Certification Or Training
Minimum- high school diploma, appropriate clerical, and business training/experience.
Required Skills
Practical knowledge of business English, general vocabulary, spelling, and modern office practices.
Ability to transcribe varied materials, and compose routine memoranda and letters. Ability to maintain
clerical records. Knowledge and proficiency in creating and using a variety of computer applications.
Sound interpersonal skills to meet and deal with the general public in an effective and tactful manner.
Ability and desire to continue to implement new technology solutions. Ability to work well with others
throughout the district who provide important assistance to each school's registrar.
Required Experience
Three (3) years acceptable secretarial or clerical experience, preferably in education.
