POSITION TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL COACH - 190 DAY CONTRACT 26/27 School Year
Ruth Hill Elementary School
Education/Certification
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree; Master's or Specialist degree preferred. Appropriate Georgia teaching state certification.
Experience
Successful classroom teaching experience with emphasis on curriculum and instructional management and planning.
Skills Required
Highly effective interpersonal and group communications skills. Strong knowledge base of standards-based classrooms and best practices in instruction. Strong work ethic, self-directed, and self-motivated. Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Primary Function
Provide job-embedded coaching that helps teachers and staff more effectively and consistently differentiate the instruction and provide formative assessments so that students will learn and meet or exceed the Georgia Performance Standards. Actively engage teachers in various forms of professional development, all of which are consistent with and support implementation of the school's improvement plan and the district's strategic plan.

Major Responsibilities
- Data-reading, interpreting, and applying data to determine appropriate instruction with the ability to teach others to do the same. Analyze student's work with individuals or groups of teachers and brainstorm next steps for adjusting instruction.
- Instructional practices for struggling students: ability to model for other teachers effective instruction techniques for students. Assist with Tier II and Tier III strategies and assessment practices.
- Collaboration: the ability to work with others, encourage and support them. Collaborate with peer teachers to design instruction based on student's needs and levels of learning.
- Professional Development: Provide various forms of literacy and or mathematical or other content area professional development for teachers, administrator(s) or parents. High quality communication skills: knowledge of research and ability to share effectively with others.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the school principal or other administrator that are allowable under Title II, Part A.
