HR Generalist – Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports day‑to‑day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll support, compliance, employee relations, and HR administration. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the capability to partner with operations and leadership to ensure consistent, compliant HR practices. Bilingual English/Spanish is required to support a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Employee Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries from employees and managers
- Maintain employee files, HRIS data, and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality
- Support employee relations by documenting concerns, escalating issues, and ensuring follow‑through
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Manage full‑cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles
- Conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and support hiring managers
- Prepare offer letters, new‑hire packets, and onboarding documentation
- Facilitate new‑hire orientation and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements
Payroll & Benefits
- Process payroll changes, timecard corrections, and employee updates
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and qualifying life events
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour rules, and company policies
- Maintain I‑9s, EEO reporting, and required HR documentation
- Support audits, safety programs, and workers’ compensation reporting
- Assist with policy updates, handbook revisions, and HR communications
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish (required)
- 2–4 years of HR experience in a generalist, coordinator, or HR support role
- Knowledge of California labor laws, wage and hour compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience supporting payroll processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fast‑paced, field‑based, or operations‑heavy environments
- HRIS experience
- Exposure to safety programs, workers’ compensation, or risk management
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, or HRCI) a plus
Work Environment
- Office‑based role with regular interaction with field employees and managers
- Occasional travel to job sites or company locations as needed
Pay: $70,304.00 - $85,000.00 per year
