Closing shifts till 10pm and 11pm depending on day of week.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, offering recommendations and product demos when appropriate
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts, balancing, closing procedures
- Maintain accurate stock levels through merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays to enhance product visibility
- Upsell complementary products by identifying customer needs and promoting special offers or new arrivals
- Ensure compliance with age restrictions by verifying IDs during alcohol sales and adhering to legal regulations
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or taking orders over the phone
- Support store cleanliness and organization by managing inventory, restocking shelves, and maintaining a tidy environment
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially within grocery or liquor stores
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math is required.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases effectively, but are not required
- Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor to engage customers confidently
- Upselling to enhance sales performance
- Knowledge of grocery store operations and inventory practices of rotating stock is beneficial
