Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and strategic Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key player in designing and building the robust, scalable backend services that power our innovative AI-native agent workspace. You will translate complex business requirements into high-performance, secure, and maintainable systems. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer passionate about architecting cloud-native solutions who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with tech, product, and operations teams to define the right problems to solve and how to solve them.
- Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern tools and patterns.
- Implement Python APIs and complex logic on top of AWS serverless.
- Contribute to system component design.
- Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team for backend development.
Who you are:
- 6 years of software engineering experience, including significant time building end-to-end systems with a strong focus on backend development.
- Expert in Python development and API development using Flask. (If you need to search in Google or use code-completion to write Python code, this job is not for you!)
- Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native design.
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models.
- Proven ability to design and optimize systems for performance.
- Excellent technical judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity with minimal direction.
- Insurance or enterprise SaaS experience is a plus
