Role Description The Veterinary Receptionist role at Covington Veterinary Hospital is a full-time, on-site position in Ft. Wyane, Indiana This role is responsible for greeting clients and patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, and maintaining a welcoming and professional front desk environment. Daily tasks include answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, processing payments, updating client and patient records, and coordinating with veterinary and technical staff to support efficient patient flow. The Veterinary Receptionist also provides basic client education about hospital services, policies, and follow-up instructions, while handling client concerns with empathy and clear communication. This position requires consistent attention to detail, multitasking and commitment to excellent client service and fear free patient experience.

Qualifications
- Strong client service skills with effective Communication and Phone Etiquette to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in Appointment Scheduling and managing patient records using practice management software or similar systems.
- Ability to provide clear, accurate Client Education about hospital services, basic pet care instructions, and follow-up procedures.
- Basic understanding of Animal Care principles to support the veterinary team and handle patients safely in reception areas.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, medical office, or customer service setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm and organized in a busy environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in veterinary or medical administration is a plus.
- Comfort with computers, email, and office software; willingness to learn new systems and processes.
