Position Summary
As a Wholesale Sales Representative, you will be the face of our wholesale division—working directly with Green Industry Professionals to drive sales, build relationships, and ensure excellent customer service. This role is the foundation of our “rain or shine” commitment, requiring you to be present, reliable, adaptable, and ready to engage daily in a fast-paced nursery/wholesale environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale customers (Green Industry Professionals) and proactively seek and develop new accounts.
- Present and sell our plant inventory, bedding plants, shrubs, trees, and related wholesale products to our clients.
- Stay knowledgeable about our product assortment: local-grown and imported plants, trees, shrubs, bedding plants, seasonal varieties; understand our competitive advantage in quality and selection.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, training, and safety, ensuring adherence to all policies and being a role model of reliability and a can-do attitude.
- Collaborate with our wholesale team to ensure that orders are pulled, processed, and ready for customers in a timely fashion—delivering on our promise of speed and quality.
- Be on time for your shift, meetings, customer appointments, and deliveries. Punctuality is essential.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times—enthusiasm, approachability, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
- Act with kindness and respect toward customers, co-workers, and all visitors. Represent the company values in every interaction.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in sales, preferably in the horticulture, nursery or green industry, landscaping supply.
- Excellent communication skills: you must be friendly, kind, professional, and able to build strong rapport with customers and team members.
- Punctual and dependable—attendance, reliability, and the ability to show up ready to work are critical.
- Positive, energetic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an environment where you may be outdoors and working in varying conditions.
- Ability to adapt to weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, heat) and maintain productivity and professionalism regardless of conditions.
- Basic computer skills for customer tracking, order processing, and ringing up clients for plant material we sell.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (to customer sites, nursery yards, etc.) when required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, follow up with customers, and manage multiple accounts and orders.
Work Conditions & Environment
- The role will involve regular time outdoors in our nursery/greenhouse setting as well as inside the office when needed.
- Weather will vary: Texas sun, high heat, rain, wind, possibly cold front conditions. You must be prepared to work “rain or shine”—our wholesale business does not stop because of weather, and our team counts on you to show up and deliver.
- You should be able to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods; lifting of plant material or assisting in loading will be required (with assistance or lift gear).
- Standard wholesale business hours apply, with flexibility for early shifts and/or some weekend work during peak seasons.
