The Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) coordinates and directs the activities and personnel of the EMS Department. Is responsible to the Chief Patient Care Officer. Is Responsible for maintenance and care of EMS Fleet and equipment. Works closely with EMS personnel, Nursing Service and Emergency Department Personnel, and the community.
Duties And Responsibilities
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate or Bachelor Degree strongly preferred. Must have Mississippi state license and national certification as Paramedic in good standing. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Supervisory experience required, management experience strongly preferred.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees day to day EMS operations.
- Interviews applicants and makes recommendations for employment of EMS personnel.
- Develops job descriptions and departmental policies for EMS personnel.
- Completes Skills Checks and Annual Evaluations for EMS personnel.
- Responsible for routine scheduling and filling open shifts as necessary.
- Assists with grant writing relevant to EMS needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
