What are the responsibilities and job description for the EXPERIENCED PT6A SERIES MECHANIC-OKMULGEE, OK position at Covington Aircraft?
We are seeking an experienced Engine Mechanic (PT6A), with a strong background in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of PT6A Series engines. This role requires a deep understanding of turboprop engine principles, including knowledge of the engine’s free-turbine, reverse-flow design and modular construction. This position is a DOT Drug & Alcohol compliance position.
Perform Maintenance Manual level repairs, and/or Overhaul of P&W PT6 engines in accordance with approved data and published work scopes. Prior experience in the maintenance, repair and/or overhaul of P&W PT6 engines required.
Duties:
• Disassembly, sub-assembly, and final assembly of PT6A Series engines.
• Inspection of engine parts and related components for wear and damage.
• Understand configuration & fit requirements during build process.
• Know and perform proper servicing procedures.
• Ensure all work is performed IAW posted work scopes.
• This position is also responsible for, with authority, following ISO procedures, initiating action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified.
• Minimum 3 years of prior experience as an aviation mechanic, with demonstrated abilities on the overhaul, repair, and troubleshooting of PT6A series engines is required.
• Demonstrate proper use and knowledge of tools, measuring equipment, and related instruments.
• Familiarization with and ability to read & interpret engine manuals, drawings/prints, and technical bulletin compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation engines and components.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent time management skills
• Must possess a basic toolbox
• High school diploma or GED (Equivalent)
• Lifting 50 pounds
• Basic computer skills
Location: Okmulgee, OK - Day shift, M-Th – 630a – 500p
Salary: Commensurate with experience and industry standard
