The Vacancy: There is one full-time, 12 month open position at a High School. The current opening is for girl’s P.E. The eligibility list established from this recruitment will also be used to fill future vacancies, substitute, and temporary positions for up to six months.
The Position: Under general supervision, to keep an assigned school building or group of buildings or office space clean and orderly; to issue, receive, and store supplies used in the physical education program; and to do related work as required. Stores, issues, receives, and checks athletic equipment for boys’ or girls’ sports, such as football, baseball, track, basketball, and tennis; issues clothing, protective pads, shoes, balls, bats, rackets, and other game equipment; sorts clothes for laundry and checks and stores returned laundry; marks athletic areas for various events; sets up equipment for gym classes; repairs and adjusts athletic equipment; may accompany teams to various athletic events; maintains first aid supplies and treatment equipment such as whirlpool; applies simple bandages and compresses; sweeps, scrubs, and mops locker and shower rooms; waxes and oils floors, dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork; empties and cleans waste receptacles; cleans restrooms; washes windows, blackboards, and walls, polishes metal work; takes care of equipment and materials; may make minor non technical repairs, such as replacing lights, adjusting shades, or blinds, or adjusting desks, lockers, and other furniture; cleans and picks up paper on grounds and courts of building.
Required Qualifications: Must have one year of experience performing custodial duties, preferably including some experience in the handling of athletic equipment. Must have a valid First Aid certificate. First Aid certificates obtained on the Internet are not acceptable.
BONA FIDE OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Females must be assigned to the girl’s P.E. program. The current opening is for girl’s P.E.
Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of a written exam and a qualifications appraisal interview each weighted 50%.
