Covia Corporation has immediate opening for a 2nd shift Operator Position at our Menomonie, WI location.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities
- Work in a safe manner and abide by all Covia and MSHA safety rules, regulations and best practices.
- Carry out the activities in a way that does not expose the worker or someone else to an unacceptable level of risk.
- Adhere to site procedures and instructions given by supervisors.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner which is most efficient and reduces damage, downtime, and quality issues.
- Complete required paperwork in an orderly, accurate, and professional fashion.
- Be physically capable of performing job duties which include but are not limited to:
- Be capable of walking on uneven ground and up and down hills.
- Be capable of climbing ladders and working at height.
- Be capable of wearing a respirator, safety harness, safety glasses, hard hat and other Personnel Protective Equipment.
- Be capable of working in year-round outdoor conditions which include hot, cold and wet weather.
- Be capable of push, pull, lift and carry 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
- Be capable of shoveling on a continuous basis.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities and assist in minor and major maintenance repair activities as directed.
- Assist with any continuous improvement projects as necessary.
- Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
- Basic computer skills and data entry are required
- Prior HMI and shipping software experience is a plus.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
- Previous experience within mining operations a plus.
- Must possess the ability to perform in a physically demanding environment.
- Qualified candidates must be available for shift work, weekends and overtime.
