Covia is looking for a dynamic Mechanic employee who will positively impact the Operations team at its Junction City, GA location.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on production equipment and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Examines, tests, and measures products from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms.
- Makes preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor, and takes appropriate action.
- Examine defects, analyzes equipment failure causes, and, where possible, takes corrective action. Analyze and record the cause of production delays on daily maintenance reports.
- Conveyer Belt Repair and Regular Maintenance
- Clean, repair, and rebuild pumps, cylinders, solenoids, and air valves.
- Other duties as assigned
- Required to be on call on a rotating basis.
- Knowledge of Bearings
- Ambitious and self-motivated worker
- Able to prioritize work schedule to execute in order of importance
- Must be able to cut and weld (stick, mig, oxy/act, plasma, etc.)
- Electrical experience is preferred
- Must be available to be on-call
- Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools, read blueprints, service bulletins, etc.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts or stay over shift if needed.
