Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef, a Dishwasher washes and cleans tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keeps the dish-room and equipment clean and organized by performing the following duties.
Detailed responsibilities:
* Food Service Dishwasher
- Operates an industrial dishwasher to wash dishes, pots and pans, cups, glasses, etc.
- Sweep/mop floors, clean and maintain equipment, sanitize utensils, and maintain all areas of the restaurant.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly conditions.
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
- Execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen, and maintain proper dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss; immediately clean up spills or broken glassware.
- Empty and clean all trash receptacles, bagging and hauling trash to dumpsters.
- Assist in loading or unloading trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies as requested.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Credentials:
Essential:
* Food Handlers’ certification from local health department
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Some High School Education
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Nonessential:
* 1 month related experience or training
