Coventry Public Schools is seeking to hire an Anticipated 7 hr/day Building Paraprofessional at Coventry Public Schools.Must hold a Teacher Assistant Certification and have passed a praxis exam OR have a teacher Assistant certification and Associates OR at least an Associates degree in education. This is a union contracted 180 day position with compensation according to contract.Qualifications1.Prior experience working in a comparable position preferred.2.Certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); if successful applicant is not currently CPI certified, training will be providedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience with children who have emotional behavioral concerns preferred.Experience with de-escalation preferred.Ability to assist in transitioning students into the general education setting.Ability to collect and monitor data as part of a behavior plan.Ability to work with a diverse team of teachers.Ability to work in an environment with children who may have emotional and physical outbursts.Other Responsibilities: As outlined in the standard Teacher Assistant job description.
