The warehouse/yard worker reports directly to the operations manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Loading company vehicles in accordance with delivery invoices, which require lifting, and carrying merchandise, lumber, and building materials.
- Pulling orders for deliveries.
- Unloading company vehicles.
- Prepare customer orders by collecting and retrieving merchandise/materials from storage areas in the yard.
- Occasionally ride with the driver to the job site to help unload.
- Ensure that inventory is consistently up to date and notify the supervisor of shortages and restocking needs.
- Treat customers, contractors, and team members in a courteous, considerate, and cooperative manner.
- Participate in the cleanliness of the facility during downtime, such as emptying trash bins, picking up lumber clubs, flat stocking, and any other related duties.
- Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and stock merchandise as necessary.
- Adhere to all approved company policies and procedures.
- Report customer complaints to the Operations Manager/Supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills
- Basic reading skills
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Prior lumber yard experience is a plus
- Prior building materials experience is a plus
Schedule
Monday to Friday 7 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday 7 AM to 12 PM (subject to change based on volume)
