HEAD COACH BOYS INDOOR TRACK
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Direct and supervise assistant coaches
2. Organize and run practices
3. Teach fundamentals and skills
4. Teach rules and regulations
5. Display and teach good sportsmanship
6. Assist in maintaining, issuing and collecting all equipment and supplies
7. Supervise players at all times
8. Complete Injury Report Form within 24 hours and notify Athletic Director of any injury
requiring medical attention
9. Comply with the rules and regulations of the school, Athletic Department, and
Interscholastic League
10. Attend all coaches’ meetings, practices and contests
11. Verify academic eligibility of all players, based on academic and weekly attendance
records
12. Communicate program expectations to student-athletes and parents
13. Monitor each athlete’s athletic and academic performance
14. Establish and maintain consistent standards of behavior, aligned with the Coventry High
School’s Student Code of Conduct
15. Document and report violations of the Student Code of Conduct to a designated
administrator at Coventry High School
16. Schedule and conduct a pre-season parent’s meeting
17. Participate in district training related to Bullying and Harassment, Title IX and D.C.Y.F.
Reporting
Requirements:
1. Five years of coaching at the high school level preferred
2. Possesses knowledge/skills in Football, based upon experience and/or coaching
3. Directly responsible to the Athletic Director in collaboration with the high school
principal
4. Must meet Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s coaching certification
requirements
5. Demonstrated ability in recognizing that the growth and development of each
student- athlete requires meeting their individual needs.
6. Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified and have completed the NFHS
Concussion Course.
