Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate mathematics and science teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will possess an affinity for the School’s mission of educating boys from underserved communities, and will have a strong background in mathematics and teaching middle school aged students.
Who We Are: Covenant School of Bridgeport is a tuition-free, independent middle school serving boys from underserved communities in Bridgeport, CT. We are part of the NativityMiguel network, a national model with a strong track record of academic success in urban education.
Serving grades 5–8, we intentionally maintain small class sizes (maximum 15 students per grade) to ensure individualized attention and strong relationships.

Teaching and Instruction:
- Teach 5th and 6th grade math and one or two sections of middle school science
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with school curriculum
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices
Student Support & Assessment:
- Use a variety of assessments to monitor and support student growth
- Maintain accurate records of student progress (reports, portfolios, etc.)
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
Community & School Life:
- Serve as an advisor/mentor and build strong relationships with students
- Lead or support one additional program area (e.g., extracurricular, enrichment, or student life)
- Participate in school events, field trips, and community-building activities
Professional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty and school leadership
- Attend meetings, conferences, and professional development
- Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 2–3 years of teaching experience, ideally at the middle school level
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience with differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and classroom technology
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $55,000–$65,000 (based on experience)
