Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of the community’s buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures that all systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment, are functioning properly while maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership: Plan, prepare, and oversee meal production, ensuring high-quality, flavorful, and nutritious meals that meet resident preferences and dietary requirements.
- Menu Development: Create and maintain seasonal menus in collaboration with dietitians, considering resident needs, nutritional guidelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all health regulations and company policies.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and lead the culinary team, fostering a positive and productive work environment while ensuring consistency in food quality and service.
- Inventory & Budget Control: Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to maximize efficiency and minimize waste while adhering to budget guidelines.
- Resident & Family Engagement: Engage with residents to gather feedback on meals, adjust menus accordingly, and create a dining experience that enhances their quality of life.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations. Event & Special Meals Coordination: Plan and execute special events, holiday meals, and themed dining experiences to enhance resident engagement.
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification (preferred)
- 3 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality settings
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and food safety regulations
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to residents' needs
