The Dining Services Bartender / Server is accountable for providing prompt, courteous service to all residents and guests in the dining room and / or bar during allotted times. The Dining Services Bartender / Server will perform serving, cleaning, hospitality, and waiting / bussing tables. Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons. Interact with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks. Assess customer needs and make recommendations. Will service the Dining Room and Bar areas, as well as meetings and other special events requiring dining services. May also prepare salads and desserts as directed.

Reasonable Pay Estimate
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $14.01 - $18.44 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and bar service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables. Serve food and drinks to residents, guests, and staff in the Dining Room, Bar, or Bistro. Bus and reset tables as needed.
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and patrons.
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails. Mix, garnish, and serve drives.
- Plan and present bar menu.
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
- Assist in setting up for meetings, including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, beverages, etc.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal / state regulations, and Senior Living / Healthcare requirements. Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed.
- “Open” and “Close” the bar / eatery areas as needed.
Required Degree: High school diploma
Certificate(s)
- Training in Servsafe is beneficial.
- Relevant state specific training certificate / license.
- Desired is one (1) year of bartending experience and / or server experience, including but not limited to: serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitiaton protocols, mixing, garnishing and serving drinks.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written, English) with residents and staff.
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices.
- Must be cordial and congenial with residents, with excellent communication skills.
- Must be dependable, detail oriented, organized, and have good follow through.
- Must be able to work within standard policy and procedures, and work with limited direct supervision.
- Must have the ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions.
- Must be able to react calmly in emergency situations.
- Must have the ability to show patience and compassion to senior adults.
- Must be considerate of resident's comfort, safety, security and belongings.
- Demonstrate the ability to set and establish priorities.
- Manages time efficiently, can work quickly.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintains a well-groomed appearance that complies with organizational and State food code standards. Ability to adhere to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and understanding of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles.
- Ability to work with all persons and must have the ability to get along and socialize with them. This includes employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, other health care professionals and the community at large.
- May be required to lift or carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling / pushing, and long periods walking and/or standing.
- May be required to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch when performing job duties.
- Must possess adequate sight and hearing to meet the responsibilities of this position.
