The Dove Learning Center (DLC) Coordinator is responsible for providing the delivery of care and services to all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love. The DLC- Coordinator must create opportunities for building community amongst young people that is inclusive and affirming, ensuring young people feel welcomed, seen, heard and valued. The DLC Coordinator is responsible for inspiring and motivating youth; by creating a learning environment which uses creative education techniques to engage youth and give them voice and choice. The DLC focuses on five core resiliency objectives: Education, Employment, Social Navigation, Financial Literacy and Wellness.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage operational day-to-day program and delivery.
Create a shared calendar that publishes all DLC programming to promote rigorous youth engagement.
Supervise and coach the DLC Specialist and the Youth Engagement Specialist on youth engagement skills.
Make available DLC programming to include all areas of the Youth Engagement Center and off-site programming.
Work with established Corporate Partners to identify and secure entry level career positions.
Coach staff on how to facilitate exploration and exposure to career pathways through site visits, speakers and job shadowing.
Assist in identifying software training programs.
Plan and supervise youth program development and collaborate with leadership across all statewide programs. This will include content for the youth and training for staff and volunteers; revise existing programming on an ongoing basis to incorporate learning from ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
Incorporate testing of new materials and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of curriculum into DLC program; reflect on data, and feedback learning into adaptive program design and delivery
Develop foundational program to include processes and surveys in collaboration with the CHART and grant provider to support successful implementation of the Violence Prevention program.
Communicate the vision of the DLC to internal and external stakeholders, and ensure program design and delivery is consistent with our vision.
Provide the development department information needed to drive donor and foundation requests/support.
Partner with outside organizations to fulfill DLC goals to include Corporations, Foundations and other Community organizations.
Support all volunteers and volunteer programming by working in collaboration with the Statewide Volunteer Coordinator.
Ensure and provide accurate documentation of youth engagement programming and activities are completed and entered into ETO.

Ensure that the needs of the youth are met at all times, prioritizing safety while providing guardrails and maintaining a spirit of flexibility

Manage payroll and use of labor. Create and approve time off requests.
Serve on a rotating schedule as a Supervisor on Call for North Jersey
Co-create goals for the Dove Learning Center with the Associate Executive Director of Programs.
Co-create the budget for the Dove Learning Center with the Associate Executive Director.
Participate in leadership meetings and contribute information concerning the departments as well as collaborate on the review of agency goals, policies and other issues under discussion.
Required to check and respond to company email daily.
All other duties assigned by Associate Executive Director.
May be required to work special events which may be conducted during off-hours from a regular schedule.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, masters preferred.
Previous group facilitation experience preferred.
Four years of experience working with young people who may have experienced great trauma, including homelessness
Excellent verbal and written communication, assessment and leadership skills.
Must be flexible with excellent time management skills
Strong ability to partner with staff and volunteers throughout the Covenant House organization
Valid NJ driver’s license with an insurable driving record
