Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience
One to three (1-3) years of childcare experience preferred. Maintain required training hours per DHS guidelines annually and as a new employee.
Licensure Requirement
Infant-Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be attained during employment. Renewed every three (3) years.

Responsibilities
- Works as a team member with specialist, teacher and suite members.
- Assists in developing class goals and objectives.
- Assists in planning and implementing activities for children based on developmentally appropriate practice.
- Monitors children's developmental progress.
- Maintains necessary records.
- Prepares teaching materials; arranges room and provides needed materials.
- Oversees maintenance of the environment and notifies supervisor when a work order needs to be submitted.
- Communicates daily with parents in either written or oral form. Conducts parent conferences.
- Prepares developmental assessments as children progress from the class.
- Provides for the safety and security of the children in the classroom. Assures children's physical needs are met consistently.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings and trainings when scheduled.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
