Responsibilities
Minimum Education:
High School or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum Experience
Sufficient previous administrative/supervisory experience in a hospital or similar institution
Licensure Requirement
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

Position Summary
Manages the housekeeping department; establishes policies, procedure, objectives, and work standards. Maintains quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Develops department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation.
- Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the housekeeping department to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Schedules and supervises housekeeping functions and activities so as not to interrupt or interfere with patient care activities.
- Provides essential equipment and supplies and ensures that cleaning agents/housekeeping chemicals meet required standards to effect maximum cleanliness and sanitation.
- Investigates and evaluates new housekeeping supplies and equipment and makes recommendations to administration.
- Inspects and evaluates the hospital's physical condition. Makes recommendations concerning painting, repairs, furnishings and furniture, relocation of equipment, and allocation of space to improve sanitation, appearances, and efficiency.
- Local travel required.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
