Position Summary
Coordinates patient flow for imaging services. Assists a licensed technologist in performing physician defined routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures. Provides support assistance/activities as needed.
Responsibilities
Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Position Summary
Coordinates patient flow for imaging services. Assists a licensed technologist in performing physician defined routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures. Provides support assistance/activities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and assists with the transfer of patients to and from imaging services.
- Prepares patients for imaging procedures, including: dressing patient, connecting patient to EKG, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry monitoring.
- Responds to physician or technologist requests during imaging procedures using appropriate anatomy/physiology terminology, procedural protocols, and imaging equipment.
- Under the supervision of licensed staff: positions patient, advances/pulls wires and catheters, manipulates digital imaging equipment.
- Explains a variety of necessary information to the patient/family member, such as: consent for treatment, MRI questionnaire, and procedure explanation.
- Assists with burning patient CDs and providing statistical data as needed to department leadership.
- Establishes and maintains sterile fields, instrumentation, and mechanical implementation used during imaging procedures.
- Assists in the maintenance and effective use of all equipment and supplies in the imaging department.
- Disinfects and sterilizes exam rooms and equipment.
- Serves as inter-departmental communication resource.
- Assists in calls with patients (i.e., appointment reminders, pre or post instructions and questions, etc.).
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
