Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a versatile, dependable, and enthusiastic Building Substitute Teacher to serve students across Preschool through Grade 12 during the 20262027 school year. This permanent substitute position is ideal for an experienced educator or skilled substitute teacher who enjoys variety, thrives in dynamic environments, and is confident managing classrooms across multiple grade levels and subject areas.
The successful candidate will provide classroom coverage for teachers and specialists as needed throughout the school year and must be comfortable stepping into a wide range of instructional settings with professionalism, flexibility, and confidence.
A Bachelors degree in education or a related field is preferred. Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience is strongly preferred, though candidates with substantial relevant experience working with children and adolescents will also be considered.
Qualifications of the successful candidate will include:
- a mature Christian faith and the ability to nurture this faith in students
- proven experience effectively managing classrooms while maintaining a spirit of grace, structure, and community
- flexibility and confidence to work with students from Preschool through Grade 12 in a variety of classroom settings and subject areas
- ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments, routines, and instructional expectations
- strong communication and collaboration skills with faculty, staff, students, and parents
- willingness to support and uphold a classical Christian educational philosophy
- professionalism, reliability, initiative, and a positive attitude
- ability to assume full classroom responsibility in the absence of the regular teacher
Candidates must be willing to sign CCAs Statement of Faith and Core Values and maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model and mentor both in and out of school to students, parents, faculty, and staff in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living.
Contract runs: September 2026 through June 2027; teaching is on a 10-month cycle.
Compensation: $30,000$38,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
