Director of Operations

Cove Surf & Turf is a high-volume, year-round waterfront restaurant in New Bedford entering its next growth phase. This includes expanded private events, catering, and the development of a large elevated terrace designed to transform the business into a true hospitality and events destination.

We are hiring a Director of Operations to take ownership of revenue-generating operations, systems, and execution across events, catering, and day-to-day hospitality.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with real responsibility and authority — not a floor-only management position and not an assistant role.

Revenue & Growth

• Lead and grow private events, buyouts, and catering (on-site and off-site)
• Build and manage systems for pricing, packages, minimums, and upsells
• Create a rolling revenue and events calendar
• Ensure events and programs are profitable, repeatable, and well-executed

Operations & Systems

• Build operational systems that do not depend on constant owner involvement
• Coordinate staffing, prep, and service plans to support events and daily service
• Improve scheduling, communication, and accountability across teams

Leadership

• Lead with clarity, structure, and follow-through
• Hold managers and staff accountable to standards
• Work directly with ownership on strategy, priorities, and execution
  

• Experienced hospitality operators with events, catering, or venue experience
• Leaders comfortable pricing, selling, and enforcing minimums
• Systems-minded operators who value structure over chaos
• People who take full responsibility for outcomes, not just effort

Experience with high-volume restaurants, event venues, or multi-stream hospitality operations is strongly preferred.

• $65,000–$85,000 base salary (depending on experience)
• Performance-based bonus tied to executed event and catering revenue
