What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at Cove Communities?
This position will be at our Jamaica Bay property. The Maintenance Tech will support day-to-day operations in basic facility maintenance and field/home site audits involving preventative maintenance workflows, standardizing checklists, and ensuring real-time home site compliance.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Be the face of the resort and always offer courteous and professional service for internal and external guests
- Maintain an open and honest work culture with team members.
- Hold yourself accountable for Cove’s high standards of service.
- Conduct daily onsite home site audits ensuring community compliance.
- Prepare audit notices and reports.
- Conduct follow-up communications with management to verify and corroborate audit findings.
- Assist with and respond to resident inquiries related to site audit.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, various hand and power tools for repair and maintenance.
- Has imagination to confront difficult circumstances in a creative way and pushes for success.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Load/unload repair equipment, tools, supplies as needed.
- Quickly respond to service calls regarding malfunction of equipment, property enhancement, and repair.
- Moving furniture around within the building to other locations
- Helps maintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies
- Provides technical support for general staff and current daily service operations
- Assist in all facets of repair and maintenance
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Skilled in maintenance and repair
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to function well in a high pace, sometimes high stress environment.
- Comfortable effectively communicating with all levels of guests and staff.
- Strong time management.
- Eye for detail.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience
