Position Summary:
The Hotel Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the hotel. This position supports the housekeeping team by assisting with room readiness, public area upkeep, linen/room supply distribution, and general cleaning duties to ensure a welcoming environment for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators, and service areas.
- Assist room attendants by delivering linens, towels, and cleaning supplies.
- Remove soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors and housekeeping closets.
- Ensure housekeeping carts and storage rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Respond promptly to guest requests or housekeeping calls for additional supplies or assistance.
- Clean windows, mirrors, doors, and other surfaces as assigned.
- Perform deep-cleaning projects such as shampooing carpets, polishing floors, and cleaning furniture.
- Maintain safety standards and report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately.
- Support other departments when necessary to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a hotel environment a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Fast-paced hotel setting with frequent interaction with guests and staff.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and moderate physical activity.
