Job description:
We are seeking a leader to assist the housekeeping operation. The Housekeeping Inspector will work with the Executive Housekeeper to clean and inspect rooms. The Inspector will serve as lead housekeeper when Executive Housekeeper is not scheduled, and will assist housekeeping team with maintaining cleanliness expectations of hotel by training and assisting in all housekeeping responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards
- Plan and prepare employee daily boards
- Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary
- Investigate complaints about service and equipment and take corrective action
- Check equipment to ensure that it is in working order
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of rooms to determine the type of work required
- Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces
- Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency
- Along with Executive Housekeeper, and at their direction, oversee and manage in-house services such as laundry and public space cleanliness
- Advise the front office of rooms ready for occupancy
Requirements:
- High school degree (or equivalency) with Hotel or College training preferred
- Housekeeping supervisor experience in hotel housekeeping
- A strong understanding of operational controls, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in a labor organized environment preferred
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and customer management platforms
- Excellent time management
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- An aptitude for self-motivation
- A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
- A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
