Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements using reservation systems such as OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure seamless transactions.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend popular dishes and beverages, and upsell items to enhance the guest experience.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their visit, promptly addressing any concerns or special requests to ensure an outstanding dining experience.
- Clear tables promptly and efficiently, bussing as needed to maintain cleanliness and readiness for new guests.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation times and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments through POS systems.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu items, including ingredients for allergy awareness and food handling procedures.
- Assist with opening or closing duties as required, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and restaurant policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles, particularly in fine dining or nightlife environments such as nightclubs or upscale bars.
- Proficiency with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Strong culinary knowledge complemented by food industry experience; familiarity with food preparation and food safety standards is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse customer needs professionally.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and billing.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a nightclub or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately; cashiering experience is beneficial.
