Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and GM‑certified Diesel Technician to join our service department. This role requires a technician who already understands the complexity of GM diesel platforms and can perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality workmanship, maintaining manufacturer standards, and supporting the overall performance of our diesel service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain GM diesel engines, including Duramax platforms.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using GM diagnostic systems and factory procedures.
- Complete diesel‑specific repairs such as fuel system work, emissions systems, turbochargers, DEF systems, and high‑pressure components.
- Document all repairs accurately in accordance with GM and dealership standards.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Participate in ongoing GM training to stay current with new diesel technologies and service bulletins.
- Support team members by sharing expertise and assisting with complex repairs when needed.
Qualifications:
- GM factory training (required for consideration).
- Minimum 3 years of dealership experience working on GM vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills specific to diesel engines.
- Proficiency with GM tools, systems, and service information (e.g., GDS2, SI).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
