About the Role
We are looking for a full-time Customer Service Specialist to join our small and cheerful team at Court Products. This position is the front line of communication with our YMCA staff and member customers, making sure every order and interaction runs smoothly. You’ll process online orders, answer phones, manage emails, and step in to resolve customer questions with empathy and confidence. Because we are a small office, you’ll also be cross trained in other tasks to help keep things running smoothly whenever team members are out.
Responsibilities
- Process all online orders through Shopify, verifying accounts and details using SOS Inventory and QuickBooks Online.
- Serve as the first point of contact: answer phones, respond to emails, and monitor our general inbox.
- Handle product questions, quotes, and returns, providing quick and accurate resolutions.
- Manage shipping inquiries, coordinating with the warehouse when needed.
- Proactively resolve issues so customers feel valued and supported right away.
- Represent Court Products with empathy and patience, ensuring every interaction reflects our friendly and professional company culture.
- Assist with general office tasks and be cross trained to provide coverage for teammates when needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong communication skills (phone and email).
- Positive, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
- Confidence to make quick, customer-first decisions.
- Comfort with technology, ability to learn Shopify, SOS Inventory, and
QuickBooks Online. - Willingness to be flexible and pitch in where needed as part of a small,
close-knit team.
Preferred (but not required):
- Prior experience in customer service, retail, or order management.
- Familiarity with Shopify, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.

- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: In-office at Court Products, Gurnee, IL
