Position Overview
The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing CASA of Southeast Texas’s marketing, communications, and fundraising event initiatives. This position ensures consistent branding, strengthens CASA’s visibility in the community, engages volunteers and donors, and supports fundraising success through well-organized events and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that aligns with CASA’s mission and fundraising goals.
- Manage CASA’s website and social media channels, ensuring content is timely, accurate, and mission-focused.
- Design digital and print collateral including flyers, invitations, newsletters, and event signage.
- Create and distribute monthly e-newsletters and donor/volunteer communications.
- Work with media partners to coordinate press releases, public service announcements, and interviews.
- Track analytics (social media, email campaigns, website traffic) and adjust strategies for maximum engagement.
Event Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and execute CASA’s annual fundraising and community awareness events (e.g., galas, benefit dinners, donor appreciation receptions, volunteer recognition).
- Manage event logistics including venue selection, catering, décor, AV, permits, and vendor contracts.
- Coordinate with the Development Director to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and auction items.
- Oversee volunteer committees to support event needs.
- Develop event timelines, budgets, and post-event reports with recommendations for future improvements.
Donor & Community Engagement Support
- Assist in planning donor stewardship activities, including thank-you mailings, appreciation events, and recognition efforts.
- Maintain relationships with community partners and vendors to expand CASA’s network and presence.
- Support volunteer and staff participation at community fairs, conferences, and networking events.
- Develop engaging marketing materials to recruit and retain volunteers and donors.
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain records of marketing campaigns, sponsorship commitments, and event expenses.
- Provide reports on campaign metrics, event outcomes, and budget performance to the Director of Development.
- Ensure compliance with CASA brand standards and donor recognition guidelines.
Performance Expectations
- Meet deadlines for development and marketing deliverables.
- Ensure timely stewardship for donor relations and sponsor communications.
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
- Contribute to the growth of donor base, event attendance, and overall visibility of the nonprofit “in the realm of event execution.”
- Provide monthly reports to the Director of Development summarizing activities, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and board members to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, events, or nonprofit development.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management, Canva/Adobe, and basic website platforms (Webflow a plus).
- Experience with event planning and vendor management.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for CASA’s mission and serving children in foster care.
- Knowledge of Bloomerang and other Donor Management Systems a plus.
