Bilingual Volunteer Child Advocates are needed at CASA of Middlesex County

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County
East Brunswick, NJ Volunteer
POSTED ON 4/11/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/10/2026
Each year, hundreds of Middlesex County children spend time in foster care. Often confused, frightened and caught in multiple government systems, these children need a dedicated, caring adult looking out solely for their best interests. By donating an average of just few hours a week, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) make a real and lasting difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.

CASA of Middlesex County is seeking volunteers to help the many Middlesex County children who lack an advocate in their corner. We train and support our volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in helping children in foster care. As a CASA volunteer, you will be part of a supportive network of people dedicated to changing lives.

Children living in foster care have suffered trauma, abuse and neglect. They are often confused and fearful of their uncertain future. The well-intentioned systems designed to serve these vulnerable kids frequently overlook the needs of an individual child. That’s where CASA volunteers come in. These dedicated individuals communicate with the courts, schools, healthcare providers and social services to ensure each child gets the needed help while in foster care and finds a safe, forever home as soon as possible.

CASA volunteers act as the “eyes and ears” of the family court system, providing critical information to help judges make the best decisions for children who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse or neglect.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County is looking for bilingual, Spanish-speaking volunteers to help children in foster care who have experienced abuse or neglect. You do not need to be a native Spanish speaker, but you should be comfortable communicating in both Spanish and English. We offer training and ongoing support to help you succeed in this important role.

As a CASA volunteer, you will join a caring team focused on making a real difference for children. Volunteers spend time with the child, talk with people involved in the child’s life—like teachers, doctors, family members, and caregivers—and share recommendations with the family court to help make the best decisions about the child’s living situation, services, education, and other important needs. The best CASA volunteers care about justice and are truly interested in helping children. You must be at least 21 years old and willing to complete background checks. Volunteers are asked to work with their assigned children for at least 18 months, and ideally for the whole case. CASA volunteers come from many different backgrounds, with a variety of work, education, and life experiences. Across the country, there are more than 75,000 CASA volunteers.
