The Director of IT and Security Operations is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring operational excellence across IT infrastructure, cloud services, and security operations. This role oversees day-to-day IT and cybersecurity functions, manages help desk escalations, drives technology and security projects, and ensures the reliability, security, and compliance of enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, combined with strong knowledge of security frameworks and operational best practices.

Director of IT & Security Operations
The Director of IT and Security Operations is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring operational excellence across IT infrastructure, cloud services, and security operations. This role oversees day-to-day IT and cybersecurity functions, manages help desk escalations, drives technology and security projects, and ensures the reliability, security, and compliance of enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, combined with strong knowledge of security frameworks and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee IT and security operations, including infrastructure, cloud services, and end-user support.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms.
- Establish and enforce IT and security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Security Oversight:
- Lead security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Implement and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with risk management teams to assess and mitigate technology risks.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor IT and security operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage help desk escalations and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
- Project Oversight:
- Direct and prioritize IT and security projects aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Vendor & Budget Management:
- Manage relationships with technology and security vendors and service providers.
- Develop and monitor IT and security operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8 years of progressive IT experience, including 3 years in a leadership role with security responsibilities.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 administration and Azure cloud services.
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles, security operations, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM, or ITIL.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and risk management.
