Position Summary:
The Transportation Agent is responsible for the safe transport of products between approved facilities and ensures compliance with all transportation procedures, as well as recordkeeping and reporting required by the Ohio Division of Cannabis. Additionally, the Transportation Agent is tasked with transportation safety, including following trip plans based on data regarding high-risk areas.
This position will vary between 2 roles. Driver and Vehicle Control. When driving, you are solely responsible for the safe transport of yourself, your VC, and product. Vehicle Control is responsible for being the eyes and ears for the driver, while performing the delivery of the product.
Essential Job Functions:
-Maintain full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as Courier Pro transportation policies and procedures.
- Oversee transportation operations by supervising Transportation Agents in conducting vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Provide route guidance, conduct threat analyses, and arrange service appointments in collaboration with the Transportation Manager.
- Work with local law enforcement to stay informed about factors affecting freedom of movement and assess high-risk areas to develop safe transportation routes, ensuring the safety of Courier Pro agents and the receiving party.
- Communicate with the Transportation Manager from the origin facility during transport to ensure agent safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities in accordance with state regulations and standards set by Courier Pro.
- Ensure proper documentation of all deliveries, transfers, and returns between cultivators and dispensary locations, which aligns with state regulations and Courier Pro standards.
- Notify and coordinate with local law enforcement and the DCC when necessary in the event of a transportation emergency, loss, theft, diversion of product, deviation from the trip plan, or any other situation requiring reporting.
- Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor.
- Ability to cross-train and work with a team.
Qualifications Required:
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license & a clean driving record
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass all background checks and licensing requirements set forth by the Division of Cannabis. You will be required to pass a BCI/FBI background check.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodations. MUST be able to routinely lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred:
- Experience in high-risk transportation operations.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking and secure communications technology.
