Position Overview: The Warehouse Associate / Backup Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of dry ice products, maintaining an organized and clean warehouse, and assisting with inventory control. This position primarily works in the warehouse but will operate a company delivery truck when serving as a backup driver. The role requires strict adherence to company safety standards, DOT regulations (when driving), and a strong commitment to teamwork and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Duties (Primary):

• Load and unload delivery trucks using proper lifting techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment (if certified).
• Verify product counts against shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies immediately.
• Organize and stage orders for delivery or storage in the proper location.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse at all times.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including PPE requirements.

Backup Driver Duties (As Needed):

• Operate a company delivery truck to deliver dry ice products to customer locations when the regular driver is unavailable.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company driving safety policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Deliver products accurately, obtain required customer signatures, and handle product returns as needed.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Previous warehouse or delivery experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening successfully.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong safety awareness; able to follow company, DOT, and OSHA procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate product handling, documentation, and recordkeeping.
• Reliable and dependable with consistent attendance and follow-through on assignments.
• Works effectively in a team environment and cooperates to meet deadlines and customer needs.
• Maintains professionalism and courtesy in all customer interactions.
• Adaptable to changing priorities; able to shift between warehouse and driving duties as needed.
• Able to push, pull, and maneuver heavy totes weighing up to 2,400 lbs. using appropriate equipment.
• Comfortable working independently and following verbal and written instructions.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Able to work in cold environments and handle dry ice safely (training provided).

Working Conditions:

• Physically demanding environment with frequent lifting and maneuvering of heavy materials.
• Primarily works in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including cold storage areas.
• Exposure to dry ice and associated safety hazards (training and PPE provided).
• May occasionally drive during various weather conditions.
• Regularly required to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
• May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime based on operational needs.

Salary : $17 - $20
