What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mitigation Specialist I/II position at County of Yolo?
The County of Yolo is recruiting for one regular, full-time position in the class of Mitigation Specialist I/II at the Public Defender's Office. The candidate selected will be placed at the I or II level depending on their background and experience, and at the discretion of the appointing authority. The salary range for the classification levels are as follows:
Mitigation Specialist I: $90,646.40 - $110,177.60 Annually
Mitigation Specialist II: $102,752.00 - $124,904.00 Annually
Under general direction, works as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary legal defense team to develop mitigation strategies that influence client-centered resolution of pending criminal cases; performs difficult, complex, and sensitive professional level case management and investigative work to support Public Defenders in effectively representing clients; and coordinates with criminal justice partners from other agencies.
Mitigation Specialist I
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or closely related field.
Mitigation Specialist II
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or closely related field; AND
Experience: Two (2) years of experience comparable to the County of Yolo class of Mitigation Specialist I providing direct social work to clients involved in the criminal justice system.
Salary : $90,646 - $110,178
