The County of Yolo District Attorney's Office is recruiting to fill two (2) vacancies, one (1) regular full-time and one (1) Limited-Term position in the Deputy District Attorney class series. The positions will be assigned to the Criminal Unit as a Deputy District Attorney I-IV, depending on the selected candidate's experience. The starting step is determined at the hiring manager's discretion.

The current salary range for the Deputy District Attorney I-IV classification levels are as follows:

Deputy District Attorney I: $89,564.80 - $108,846.40 Annually

Deputy District Attorney II: $110,136.00 - $133,868.80 Annually

Deputy District Attorney III: $135,595.20 - $164,819.20 Annually

Deputy District Attorney III: $159,203.20 - $193,523.20 Annually


Note
  • In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that may be utilized to fill future vacancies as they occur.  
  • The District Attorney's Office participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Deputy District Attorney I
Experience:  No experience required.
Licensure: Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Deputy District Attorney II
Experience:  Two (2) years of experience in the practice of law; One (1) year of experience as an entry-level attorney in any county in the State of California or at least one (1) year of experience at a prosecutor's office in the United States.
License:  Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Special Requirement:  Attorneys assigned to “special services” legal work must have one (1) year of experience in general civil law or in the civil and criminal prosecution of consumer or environmental law.

Deputy District Attorney III 
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the practice of law; One (1) year of experience as journey-level attorney in any county in the State of California or at least one (1) year of experience at a prosecutor's office in the United States.
License:  Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Deputy District Attorney IV
Experience: Four (4) years experience in the practice of law or three (3) years experience as an attorney with the County of Yolo.
Licensure:
Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Special Requirement: Attorneys assigned to “special services” legal work must have one (1) year of experience in general civil law or in the civil and criminal prosecution of consumer or environmental law.

Driver's License for all levels:  Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. The supplemental questions are designed to elicit specific information regarding a candidate's experience, education, and training.
