Behavioral Health Crisis Receiving Centers (BHCRC) are designed to serve adults, TAY aged 18 to 26, and older adults. The CRBH provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for individuals during a mental health crisis or substance use emergency. The primary goal of BHCRCs is to divert individuals from emergency rooms, jails, or law enforcement encounters by offering immediate, short-term stabilization and treatment in a non-judgmental, trauma-informed setting. BHCRCs offer an alternative to institutional care and are designed to reduce emergency department overcrowding, prevent unnecessary incarceration, and improve the overall crisis response system. BHCRCs are designed to provide immediate access to care without the need for prior appointments or referrals. This ensures that individuals experiencing a crisis can receive timely care, typically within hours of the crisis beginning.
The CRBH clinician is part of the Admissions Referrals and Discharge Unit. The clinician will conduct assessments on individuals connected with the CRBH, SHCH, and Inpatient acute settings. Additionally, the clinician will also provide short-term therapy, case management and crisis services. This position will also need to conduct risk assessments and WIC 5150. The ideal candidate will require adaptability and organizational skills, handling several cases concurrently. The clinician will be expected to work both in the office and in the field. The position is Monday-Friday 8-5 and subject to change based on the needs of the department.

The Clinician II differs from the Supervising Clinician in that the latter is the supervisory class that requires regular, continuous performance of the full range of supervisory duties. Supervising Clinicians supervise, plan, assign, and direct the work of a specific unit of professional and/or paraprofessional staff in providing individual, group, and family counseling, alcohol and drug prevention and/or treatment services and also assumes program responsibilities for one or more programs, contracts, and/or functions.

Screening for Best Qualified: If applicable, an applicant’s education, training, experience, and responses to the supplemental questions will be evaluated to determine applicant ranking and those that are best qualified to be place on an eligible list for the job class. The active eligible list that is established from this recruitment will be used to fill this open position and future vacancies.
Verification of Education
Acceptable forms of educational documentation are official or unofficial transcripts that list the student's name, institution name, field of study and date the degree was awarded.
For recent graduates who have not received proof of their degree yet, a letter from the registrar's office stating that all requirements for graduation have been met and listing the field of study will be sufficient proof of graduation.

All foreign transcripts or diplomas must be in English. 1. A written statement from a U.S. accredited university or college that states that the applicant is qualified for entrance to a program of graduate studies for which a degree in a related field is required.
2. An evaluation of the applicant's degree and coursework equivalency by a private organization that provides foreign credential evaluation services. The evaluation must include a comparison of comparable U.S. courses for content, credit and grade.
Note: Foreign language documents must include a precise word-for-word English translation of all foreign language documents. It is the responsibility of each applicant to prove to the satisfaction of the County that the applicant meets the specific requirements listed on the job announcement for each specific examination.
