What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditor position at County of Washington Controller's office?
The Washington County Controller’s Office is seeking to hire an Auditor to perform compliance, internal control, and revenue audits of the County departments and offices. The position reviews financial records and transactions, evaluates internal controls and procedures, and determines compliance with applicable County, state and federal requirements. Responsibilities include evaluating internal controls within the County and identifying deficiencies or opportunities for improvement; reviewing 1099 reporting, taxable allowances and other taxable compensation; bank account reconciliations; assist on audits of Magisterial District Judge offices and other County offices that receive, handle, record or safeguard public funds, and performing other auditing and financial review duties as assigned.
The position requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and exercise professional judgment.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is required. Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and computer skills are necessary.
Salary - $52,269.64
