This recruitment will establish an employment list to fill current and any future vacancies within the Tulare County Probation Department. The anticipated life of the employment list is six months. As extra help positions become available, County departments with the job openings select the most qualified and appropriate applicant for the position available. The number of hours and duration of employment varies by each assignment. Extra help employees may work in a variety of County departments in locations throughout the geographic county area.
Extra help employees may not work more than 1,559 hours in any fiscal year from July to June. An extra help employee who mistakenly works in excess of 1,559 hours in a fiscal year does not become a probationary or regular employee. Applications will be active for six months. If you are hired for extra help and you complete a work assignment and then you if you wish to be employed again, you must resubmit an Extra Help application online. - Understanding and support the division’s Mission and Vision and perform duties in order to get the job done with the highest quality and exceptional customer service.
- Develop and maintain numerous reporting tools and methods.
- Compile, analyze, and disseminate and extensive range of program and operational data in various forms (electronic databases, spreadsheets, Word documents, PowerPoint Presentations, etc.).
- Serve as a clearinghouse for a wide ranging number, type and frequency of requests for data and other information.
- Design, coordinate, conduct and evaluate client/customer and/or employee surveys as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following.
Education
- A bachelor degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, finance, business administration, public administration or closely related field.
- One (1) year of experience designing, conducting, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating data related to criminal justice programs.
- One (1) year equivalent as a Staff Services Analyst III in Tulare County.
- Applicable state and federal statutes and regulations, and local ordinances, policies, and rules related to the County.
- Principles and methods used in data analysis.
- Principles of systems and procedures analysis.
- Data extraction and data collection strategies.
Skill/Ability To
- Research, analyze and interpret complex statistical material and to present analyses and conclusions clearly and precisely.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; keep abreast of new developments in criminal including changes in laws and regulations.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
- Display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently and accurately; demonstrate responsible behavior and attention to detail.
