Parks Description: This is a custodian position at the Lompoc Veterans’ Memorial Building. Its facilities include venues within a historical building and its grounds. The person selected for this job will be doing daily cleaning of the interior and exterior along with small maintenance projects, including minor building repairs and paint touch-up. Additional tasks may include event monitoring during and after business hours and weekends. General hours may vary and may include weekends. Candidate will be responsible for their own transportation to the job site.

- Experience cleaning and maintaining a kitchen area

Examples of Duties
- Conducts regular cleaning and sanitizing of restroom, hallways, walls, windows, lobbies, stairways, offices, and drinking fountains using appropriate cleaners and disinfectants.
- Cleans floors by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors;
- Cleans carpet or rugs by vacuuming, shampooing, spot cleaning, and/or deep steaming cleaning;
- Washes, dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork and shelves;
- Empties and cleans containers, wastebaskets and ashtrays; empties recycled materials into appropriate containers;
- Turns lights on and off, locks and unlocks buildings;
- Cleans and maintains equipment in the workplace;
- Performing minor repairs and other similar duties and reports necessary repairs;
- Monitors events that may occur during business hours in addition to after hours and weekends;
- Event chair and table set-up and take-down;
- Six months experience in commercial/industrial janitorial services or light building maintenance; or,
- a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements
- A valid Driver's License may be required at the time of application.
