The County of San Diego is currently seeking qualified applicants for SUPERVISING ASSESSMENT CLERK

(ARCC has offices in Chula Vista, Santee, Downtown San Diego, Kearny Mesa and San Marcos)
Supervising Assessment Clerks are responsible for supervising employees in several clerical units in the Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk's Office involved in the preparation and maintenance of property records, secured and unsecured assessment rolls, issuance of vital records, fictitious business names, marriage licenses, and civil ceremonies.

HIRING TIMELINE AND DATES

The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.

  • Interviews, Job Offers and Background Process will be ongoing. (Current County employees may be exempt from the background process.)
  • Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Four (4) years of clerical experience, two (2) years must have been in a legal court, government, real estate, property, title, or similar office setting as a first-line supervisor.

This experience must have included supervising the processing of legal documents that effect ownership, transfer, and change of property and the preparation of an assessment tax roll and/or issuing of vital records and marriage licenses, filing Fictitious Business Names, and performing civil ceremonies.


CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.

EVALUATION


Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained on their employment and supplemental applications. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate as the responses you provide on the supplemental application questionnaire will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system. If you are successful in the initial screening process your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
