The San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA) has an opening for
RETIREMENT MEMBER SERVICE ASSOCIATE
Interviews are expected to begin shortly after the application period closes. The department will reach out to candidates to invite them to participate in an interview. The starting salary for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications at time of appointment.
Future Salary Increases
June 2026 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board 1.49% Market Adjustment)
June 2027 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board 1.49% Market Adjustment)

Retirement Member Services Associate positions include a wide variety of responsibilities that are all geared towards helping County employees plan for and enjoy their retirement. The job duties include but are not limited to data input, research, analysis, benefit calculations and customer service. Ideal Candidate
The Associate position is focused on data entry, benefit calculations, and customer service. SDCERA is looking for individuals with strong keyboarding and data entry skills, who are detail oriented, demonstrate strong organization skills, perform work accurately, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enjoy working with numbers and providing excellent customer service.

Hiring Timeline and Date
The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.
- Job offers and background process begins shortly after interviews. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
- Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
- Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date. If you are not selected for this interview process, you may have the opportunity to compete for future vacancies.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; OR,
- Two (2) years of experience performing financial calculations, statistical/metrics analysis and data review.

Condition of Employment
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Evaluation Process
The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month eligible list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental application.
