What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concessions Staff position at County of Roanoke Virginia?
Performs routine service work assisting customers with food orders, cash handling, and dispensing food. Performs related work as required.
Hours Required for this position: Thursday-Sunday; 9:30am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-7:30pm- Delivers uncompromising customer service responding immediately to customer requests, inquiries, and concerns
- Handles point of sale transactions, opening and closing functions, according to County policies and procedures
- Cooks food and uses the point of sale system to process orders
- Dispenses food and beverage to paying customers
- Cleans all areas on an hourly basis
- Sets up equipment for daily food and beverage sale
- Restocks food and beverage products
- Opens and closes the building according to set procedures
- Tracks use of supplies and reports inventory status to Concessions Supervisor
- Works directly with the public in person having good communication skills in a warm and friendly manner
- Performs related administrative work including data entry and record keeping
- May work as part of a self - directed work group or team
- May work varied shifts to accommodate customers and facility
Education
Required: Completion of the ninth grade
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Required: Some customer service experience (could be in a variety of settings)
Preferred: One or more years of customer service experience.
Certifications/
Licenses
Required: CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability to work with public in person
- Ability to process customer orders and food requests
- Some knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment technology
- Ability to use a computer and process food orders
- Ability to follow oral and written direction and work procedures
- Ability to take initiative as well as follow to completion
Additional Requirements
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results. Must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
