The County of Riverside's Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Riverside University Health System's Medical Center seeks an Interventional Radiologic Technologist (IRTech) to join our Cath Lab team in Moreno Valley.
This position is responsible for performing both circulating and scrub duties as an Interventional Technologist in the Cardiovascular Lab. Responsibilities include preparing and managing diagnostic tools and sterile supplies, supporting the Monitor and Sedation Nurse, and operating imaging equipment. The technologist will also assist providers during procedures by performing essential table-side duties, such as loading wires and administering contrast injections. Under the supervision of the Cardiovascular Lab Director, the technologist ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, operates digital equipment, assists in procedures, and handles supply stocking, image processing, and equipment checks.
Desired Qualifications:
- Radiologic technology experience, obtained within the last five years in an acute care setting, that included interventional, angiographic, or special procedures duties.
Schedule:
4/10 Monday through Friday 7 am to 5:30 pm (Day off to be determined).

• Operate extremely technical imaging equipment and apply ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with standard operating procedures, according to departmental policies, procedures/ protocols and as appropriate for the patient.
• Position patients according to department policies/procedures; move or assist patients onto tables; provide for the patient’s comfort during procedures; perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, utilizing image-guided surgical procedures, sterile techniques and radiographic techniques.
• Operate Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment to obtain radiographic images; critique radiographs for quality and accuracy; provide radiation protection in accordance with regulations; select accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis; assist physicians with specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures by handling equipment, preparing procedure and instrument trays.
• Prepare radiopaque materials for administration by Radiologist; open contrast material, maintaining integrity of sterile syringes, needles, and draws-up contrast for injection in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and procedure room; troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems.Experience:
Three years as a Radiologic Technologist. One year of recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) is desired but not required.
License/Certificate:
Possession of a valid license to practice as a Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California (CRT) is required.
Possession of a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Certification in Cardiovascular – Interventional Radiography (CV) or Cardiac – Interventional Radiography (CI) issued by ARRT or as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is preferred but not required.
