What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at County of Newaygo?
Performs janitorial/custodial maintenance of the Newaygo County Commission on Aging, public and administration areas, as well as the commercial kitchen.
- Under the direction of the COA Director, responsible for maintaining a clean work environment for staff and visitors.
- Responsible maintaining a clean environment in the commercial kitchen.
- Cleans building by emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning surfaces.
- Regularly cleans and disinfects sinks, faucets, urinals, stools, and other fixtures in restrooms.
- Restocks all restrooms with towels, tissue, and soap as needed.
- Cleans and disinfects windows, doors and glass partitions.
- May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Conducts safety checks to ensure all doors and windows are locked and building is secure before departure.
- On a routine basis dust walls, ceilings, air vents, and light fixtures.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Work independently within established procedures and policies.
- Must have the ability to work from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
