We're looking for a self-starter, one who enjoys collaborating and serving others. Active listening is essential, as the incumbent will be a team member responsible for the completion of group goals. Technically, the position also requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably with major course work in business or public administration, political science, industrial relations or a related field; and one year of professional analytical experience in administrative, budget, or personnel analysis, preferably in a public agency human resources department. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years. Candidates applying for level II will need two years of experience at a level equivalent to Nevada County's classification of Administrative Analyst I (See the full job description for additional information.)
Work will include budget analysis, detailed research, process improvement efforts, special projects, recruiting, benefits administration, report writing, training document development, auditing records and data for accuracy, and support duties. Success in this position requires determination and a passion for working in the public sphere and understanding local government. An individual who is results-minded with agility to shift in response to priorities is critical.
This is a full-time, fully benefited, and administrative-exempt level position that receives a 5% confidential pay differential. The Administrative Analyst will receive 189 hours of personal leave per year. The position also receives an additional 40 hours per year of administrative leave after six months of service. Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university, and one year of experience in administrative, budget or personnel analysis, preferably in a public agency.
*Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.
Level II: (in addition to the above)
Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Nevada County's classification of Administrative Analyst I.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with supervision of personnel within a non-profit or public/private partnership including the hiring process.
· Professional knowledge and skills sufficient to implement and evaluate program functioning and to stimulate program development.
· High degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Maintains effective communication with all levels of staff, state personnel, advisory board, community groups, clients and volunteers.
· Ability to prepare and give input into the operating budget. Management and implementation of the budget.
· Proficiency in detailing service, preparing reports, and leading all aspects of the program's physical resources.
· Availability for special events and in times of emergency.
