Who We Are: The Office of Council Services (OCS) provides administrative services to the Council Chair, the Councilmembers’ individual offices, and the Council’s district offices.In the County’s legislative process, the role of OCS is to staff the County Council’s committees and provide objective assistance to individual Councilmembers.The Council Services Assistant provides general administrative and operational support to OCS within the Support Section. This part-time position operates under minimal supervision and assists in various functional areas, including procurement, personnel, IT support, and general office administration.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties: Provide assistance across multiple functions of the Support Section, including accounts payable, procurement, personnel, IT, and health and safety.Receive and route incoming calls, documents, mail, order shipments, and e-mail correspondence.Assists OCS staff, County employees, vendors, and the public by responding to general inquiries and routing requests appropriately.Support document production including printing, duplicating, mailing and distribution of materials.Monitors and replenish office supplies; assist with basic maintenance of equipment and facilities.Digitize and file documents, records, and correspondence using SharePoint and other document management systems. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Support Supervisor.
