ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Office of the County Executive plays a central role in leading and supporting the work of Marin County government. We serve as the primary office serving the Board of Supervisors and help guide Countywide operations, strategic planning, and policy development.

Our responsibilities are broad and interconnected. We manage the County’s $860 million budget, coordinate cross-departmental efforts, lead public communications and engagement, and support major initiatives such as climate resilience, housing, racial equity, and emergency preparedness. We also oversee internal operations, including County facilities and key administrative functions that keep local government running smoothly.

Our office brings people together—within government and across the community—to address complex challenges and improve services for all residents. We take pride in being problem-solvers and trusted partners in advancing the County’s mission.

At the County of Marin, we are deeply committed to building a healthy, safe, inclusive, and sustainable future. Our work is grounded in the values of equity, transparency, and public service. Whether it’s supporting affordable housing, addressing homelessness, responding to disasters, or designing more accessible services, we are working to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Marin County residents.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Marin seeks a visionary and principled leader to serve as its first Inspector General - someone prepared to establish and shape a brand-new office dedicated to independent oversight and public accountability of the Sheriff's Office.
